MD/DC Chapter News
May 29, 2001
On June 28 and 29, the Chapter will be hosting its first
annual overnight retreat and education sessions at The Rocky Gap Resort and
Conference Center in Western Maryland. We
are looking forward to an exciting time. Jim Cole will be the featured speaker and will be discussing
the Performance Matrix which is a structure for organizational performance
measurement. Friday morning will
start off with three tracks of concurrent sessions: Building Commissioning by
American University and Sebestia Blomberg, an APPA Business Partner; Energy
Purchasing in a Deregulated Market by University of Maryland, Baltimore; and
Sustainable Preventative Maintenance by Towson University.
Jim Cole will round out the day with some practice exercises using the
Performance Matrix. In August, the board will be making plans for its fall
meeting and elections to be held at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory
in Columbia, Md. Plans are for
sessions geared toward the frontline maintenance staff with topics such as
repair of Corian materials and a tool show by the Maintenance Warehouse.
